Croatian manufacturer Azonprinter has extended its Razor product range with the launch of a new UV LED printer.

The Azon Razor Hale, which is commercially available with immediate effect, features an LED curing system with a long-lasting, energy-efficient UV LED lamp that generates low levels of heat.

The machine, which offers a printable surface area of 290x800mm, can print directly onto PET, ABS, TPU and polycarbonate substrates as well as wood, stone, glass, canvas, ceramic, leather and other soft materials up to 200mm height at a resolution of up to 2,880dpi.

The device comes with optional ink systems; either 220ml cartridges or a bulk system using six 500ml ink tanks. New ink recirculation is said to prevent the pigment in white ink from settling, which provides more consistent white layer. As a result, ink tanks can be refilled from ink bottles, ink waste is minimised and printing can be continued without interruption.

Two ink configuration options are available: CMYK plus four white channels or CYMK plus two white channels and two gloss channels. The new UV TurboJet inks available for the machine are said to enable vibrant prints on any type of material, for both indoor and outdoor use.

Azonprinter sales and marketing manager Žaklina Begic said: “The Azon RIP software allows you to print up to five layers in inline mode on the Razor Hale.”

She added the device can also create embossed or raised print up to 2mm, allowing users to print any ADA-compliant and Braille script standard requested.

Other features of the Razor Hale include new sensors that can adapt the height during printing as well as the facility to fade and change the number of used nozzles.

A separately available rotary adapter, Rotax, also enables the machine to print onto cylindrical and cone objects with diameters that range from 41mm to 127mm and on objects up to 279mm high. The adapter delivers both white and full-colour prints.

“The Rotax doubles the capabilities of the machine. A lot of customers in the promotional industry are using that kind of application,” said Begic.

Azonprinter, which currently sells its machinery through more than 85 distributors worldwide, debuted its Razor Conti machine at Fespa Digital in March.

The company did not reveal pricing details for the Razor Hale but said the machine costs less than alternatives from other UV printer manufacturers.
