MUTOH RELEASES NEW OBG VIBRANT INKS
MP stands for multi-purpose; MP 31 ink can print directly on a wide variety of materials, including acrylic, PET, metal, and synthetic leather, as well as paper.
Russell Cavenagh, managing director of Mutoh Australia, said, “Compared to UV ink, it is less uneven and is smoother, and produces a natural finish that brings out the texture of the material.”
According to Cavenagh the use of spot colour-inks orange, blue and green added to the basic CMYK inks expands the colour gamut and broadens the range of colour expression. He said, “These inks produce more vibrant and beautiful colour expression, including vivid orange and green, and deep blue.”
He added that they can also be used in a CMYK, Orange, Blue, Green and White ink configuration “offering great versatility” for the proofing market.
Mutoh says the inks are weather and heat resistant, with the high opacity white inks bringing out the original brightness of the inks regardless of the substrate used.
The ValueJet 628MP printer, which features CMYK plus white with unique resin-based inks and a hot air knife media drying system. This allows direct printing on a variety of white, transparent, and coloured roll substrates, says Cavenagh.
Cavenagh said, “The Mutoh VJ-628MP is suited for sign and display print shops to produce both indoor and long-term outdoor prints, as well as for graphic companies looking for a digital solution for proofing, and for short-run production of packaging prototypes or customised labels, even for industrial businesses specialised in thermo-forming."
